Mohammed bin Rashid participates in the 33rd Arab League Summit in Bahrain – Global Event

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, reaffirmed the UAE’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause at the 33rd Arab League Summit in Manama, Bahrain. The summit, attended by leaders and representatives of 22 Arab League member states, focused on advancing Arab collaboration and finding solutions to regional challenges.

Upon his arrival at the summit, Sheikh Mohammed was welcomed by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, who commended the UAE’s commitment to promoting Arab unity and prosperity. Sheikh Mohammed congratulated the King of Bahrain on the successful organization of the summit and expressed his wishes for Bahrain’s continued growth under His Majesty’s leadership.

With the humanitarian situation in Gaza deteriorating, Sheikh Mohammed emphasized the UAE’s steadfast commitment to the Palestinian cause and its support for the rights of the Palestinian people in accordance with international laws and resolutions. He highlighted the UAE’s leading role in global efforts to deliver relief aid to Gaza and praised the recent UN General Assembly vote in favor of granting Palestine full UN membership.

Leaders at the summit discussed strategies to strengthen cooperation and integration among Arab states, focusing on sustainable development, stability, and prosperity in the region. The event was attended by key figures such as Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the Arab League, and António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations.

During the opening session, Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia emphasized the importance of joint Arab action in addressing regional and international issues, particularly the Palestinian cause. King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain called for an international conference for peace in the Middle East and stressed the need for a final and just resolution to conflicts in the region.

The summit also featured speeches by other prominent figures, including Dr. Dlamini Zuma, Chairperson of the African Union Commission, and Hissein Brahim Taha, Secretary-General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation. The leaders in attendance discussed the current challenges facing the Arab world and the importance of unity in achieving peace and stability.

Earlier in the day, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed of the UAE arrived in Bahrain, where they were received by Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, and other senior officials. The UAE’s participation in the summit underscores its commitment to supporting Arab unity and finding solutions to regional challenges.
