Mohammed bin Rashid tours Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi, UAE

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, made a significant visit to the Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi, emphasizing the UAE’s position as a key hub for international travel. The visit highlighted the country’s robust infrastructure and the dedication of its national professionals who work tirelessly to ensure seamless operations.

During his visit, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid praised the ongoing efforts to enhance the UAE’s leadership in various sectors, leveraging its unique capabilities and strategic advantages to become a powerhouse for sustainable development. He specifically highlighted the nation’s strengths in the travel and tourism sector, calling for continued efforts to elevate the UAE’s global prominence and strengthen its development model focused on human welfare and happiness.

Accompanied by His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid was briefed on the capabilities of the Zayed International Airport, one of the world’s largest airports spanning 742,000 square meters with the capacity to handle up to 45 million passengers annually.

The visit also showcased the advanced infrastructure and solutions at the airport, which was renamed this year in honor of the UAE’s Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed, whose vision elevated the country’s stature and competitiveness on the global stage.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid toured the airport, including Etihad Airways’ First-Class Lounge, and learned about Terminal A, which can accommodate 79 planes simultaneously and process 11,000 passengers per hour. Terminal A has played a crucial role in solidifying Abu Dhabi’s status as a global aviation hub, with His Highness commending its sustainability track record and seamless passenger experience.

Accompanying His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid on the visit were key figures in the aviation and transportation sectors, including His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports, and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group; His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council; and His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Advisor of Special Affairs at the Presidential Court and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Airports, along with several senior officials.

The visit underscored the UAE’s commitment to maintaining its status as a leading international travel hub, supported by a strong infrastructure and a dedicated team of professionals. As the country continues to enhance its global prominence and focus on sustainable development, the Zayed International Airport stands as a testament to the nation’s progress and vision for the future.
