Mother in Georgia killed by a group of ‘hostile dogs’

Reading Time: < 1 minute

A tragic incident unfolded outside a Georgia middle school as a mother was fatally attacked by a pack of dogs, just days before Mother’s Day. Courtney Williams, 35, was waiting with her three children at a bus stop behind Brooks County Middle School in Quitman when the dogs pounced on them.

Williams was found dead in a nearby yard, while her children sustained injuries. Her son, Kayden, bravely shielded his sister from the dogs, sustaining severe wounds in the process. Another son rushed into the school for help, where a man intervened and saved them.

The family’s ordeal highlights the urgent need for animal control in the area, as neighbors had previously raised concerns about stray dogs. The community expressed sorrow over the tragic timing of the incident, occurring just before Mother’s Day.

Despite the harrowing experience, the children are now recovering at their aunt’s home. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is conducting an autopsy to determine the official cause of Williams’ death.

This heartbreaking event serves as a reminder of the importance of responsible pet ownership and the need for proper measures to prevent such tragedies. The community mourns the loss of a mother and stands in solidarity with the grieving family during this difficult time.
