MS Dhoni’s Response to Question About Continuing Competitive Cricket Post IPL

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Former India captain MS Dhoni, at the age of 42, is facing the challenges of competing in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Despite retiring from international cricket four years ago, Dhoni continues to lead Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. Under his captaincy, CSK has won five IPL titles, showcasing his exceptional leadership skills.

Recently, Dhoni stepped down as the captain of CSK, handing over the reins to Ruturaj Gaikwad. However, he ensured to play all league matches in the 2024 IPL season. Unfortunately, CSK suffered a heartbreaking defeat against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, missing out on a playoff spot.

As speculations arose about Dhoni’s future in the IPL, a video featuring the World Cup-winning skipper was released on the Dubai Eye 103.8 YouTube channel. In the video, Dhoni emphasized the importance of staying fit and disciplined in professional sports, especially when competing against younger and fitter players.

Despite his commitment to the game, sources from CSK revealed that Dhoni will be traveling to London for treatment of a muscle tear injury. This injury had affected his performance during the IPL season, leading to a change in his batting position. Dhoni will make a decision about his IPL career post-recovery from the injury, leaving fans and cricket enthusiasts eagerly awaiting his next move in the T20 tournament.
