Mustangs Dominate Tennis Section Championships and Crowned Champions

Mountain House High boys tennis team clinched the CIF SJS Division 2 playoffs championship in a thrilling 5-4 victory over Del Oro Golden Eagles. The top-seeded Mustangs faced tough competition under scorching temperatures, but managed to keep their composure and secure the win.

The match started with Mountain House’s No. 1 doubles team, Andy Su Jr. and Kriss Anto, suffering a defeat to Del Oro’s Becker and Earp. However, the Mustangs fought back with star player Eidan Mercado falling to Boden Willis in singles play. Despite the setbacks, Mountain House rallied with standout performances from Xavi Gimeno, Aadi Rajan, and the doubles team of Adit Lahiri and Tawiah Jace Sai.

The deciding match came down to sophomore Aprameya Rao, who displayed incredible determination and skill in a nail-biting showdown against Del Oro’s Lucas Borman. Rao’s powerful forehand shots and strategic play ultimately led to a hard-fought victory, securing the championship for Mountain House.

With this win, the Mustangs added another section championship to their impressive record, becoming the only sports team at the school with two section titles. The team’s dedication and hard work throughout the season paid off, as they now look forward to the individual sectionals with six players set to compete.
