In a dominating performance, the East Marshall softball team secured a 9-0 victory over Roland-Story, with star senior Morgan Neuroth leading the charge. Neuroth, a DMACC recruit, struck out 12 batters in a two-hit shutout, showcasing her pitching prowess and leading her team to victory.

Coach Jary Hoskey praised Neuroth, calling her the driving force behind the team’s success this season. With zero walks issued and only three runners allowed on base, Neuroth’s stellar performance on the mound was a key factor in the Mustangs’ win.

But Neuroth’s contributions weren’t limited to pitching. The senior also made an impact at the plate, with a career strikeout total of 650 and closing in on the school’s record of 732. Her offensive support was evident early in the game, with Peyton Grabenbauer hitting a two-run homer in the first inning, setting the tone for the Mustangs’ strong performance.

With the win, East Marshall returned to the Class 2A rankings at No. 11, showcasing their resilience and determination after a challenging start to the season. The team’s four seniors, including Neuroth, were credited by Coach Hoskey for their leadership and contributions to the team’s success.

As the season progresses, East Marshall looks to continue their winning ways, with upcoming games against BGM and Winfield-Mt. Union before a doubleheader against Grundy Center. With Neuroth leading the charge, the Mustangs are poised for a successful season ahead.
