Renowned actor Nana Patekar has called for farmers to receive a price for their crops that is 50 per cent higher than their input costs. In a recent statement, Patekar expressed confidence that the new NDA government and the opposition will collaborate for the welfare of the people.

Patekar, known for his advocacy on farmers’ issues in Maharashtra, emphasized the importance of working towards the welfare of farmers. He highlighted the need for a fair price for farmers’ produce, stating that if farmers spend Rs 100, they are asking for Rs 150 in return.

Addressing the media, Patekar also touched upon the issue of farmer suicides in Maharashtra, noting a decrease in such incidents. He urged for a positive approach towards the new government, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts for the betterment of the country.

On the work front, Nana Patekar was recently seen in the Marathi comedy-drama film ‘Ole Aale’ and portrayed the role of Former ICMR Director General Dr. Balram Bhargava in the film ‘The Vaccine War’.

In response to a recent incident where a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) official allegedly ‘slapped’ BJP MP Kangana Ranaut at Chandigarh airport, Patekar condemned the act, stating that it was wrong and should not have happened.

As the country prepares for Narendra Modi’s third consecutive term as Prime Minister, Patekar’s advocacy for farmers’ welfare and his call for collaboration between the government and the opposition reflect the ongoing dialogue surrounding agricultural reforms and the well-being of farmers in India.
