Naptown Philharmonic Orchestra Presents: Eye On Annapolis

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The Londontowne Symphony Orchestra bid farewell to its 20th season with a grand announcement – the orchestra will now be known as the Naptown Philharmonic Orchestra. This rebranding marks a new era for the orchestra, emphasizing its commitment to providing affordable and enjoyable classical and popular music to the Annapolis community.

Board President Cmdr. Diane Nichols expressed her excitement about the change, stating, “The orchestra’s mission is to provide high-quality, family-friendly, affordable classical and light classical concerts for the enrichment of everyone in our community. That won’t change. In fact, it will increase.”

The new name was unveiled during a performance featuring iconic American music inspired by the “Wild, Wild West,” including the Grand Canyon Suite and Hoedown. The audience was further engaged with the community through the Naptown Brass New Orleans-style second line band, which marched into the Maryland Hall auditorium for a lively unveiling of the new logo.

Music Director and Conductor Dr. Anna Binneweg expressed her joy at the rebranding, emphasizing the orchestra’s commitment to providing opportunities for musicians of all levels to learn and grow. The Naptown Philharmonic aims to be more visible in the community, reaching beyond the performance stage to connect with a wider audience.

The rebranding process is being supported by MH Media Strategies, and the orchestra invites the community to learn more about their mission and upcoming events at https://naptownphil.org.
