National Junior Basketball Championship: Tamil Nadu girls and boys victorious in group-stage openers

Tamil Nadu made a winning start in both categories at the National Junior Basketball Championship, showcasing their dominance on the court. The defending champion Tamil Nadu girls secured a convincing 92-58 victory over Karnataka in a group-A league match, while the Tamil Nadu boys also had a strong start, defeating Odisha 104-48 in a group-B league match.

In the men’s category, Chandigarh emerged victorious against Kerala with a score of 81-66, while Punjab outplayed Delhi with a score of 87-53. In the women’s category, Madhya Pradesh defeated Rajasthan with a score of 86-61, and Maharashtra triumphed over Gujarat with a score of 84-71.

In the tennis world, the Sriram Balaji-Andre Begemann pair reached the quarterfinals of the Challenger tournament in Italy after defeating Dan Added and Luca Sanchez. In another Challenger tournament in China, Ramkumar Ramanathan and Ray Ho secured a win in the doubles pre-quarterfinals.

In the AITA ranking tennis tournament, qualifier Divya Sharma stunned fourth seed Divya Bhardwaj with a score of 6-3, 6-2 in the women’s pre-quarterfinals. The tournament also saw impressive performances from other players like Yash Yadav, Adil Kalyanpur, and Sejal Bhutada.

Meanwhile, in the shooting world cup in Baku, Indian shooters had a tough day in the skeet event, with Anantjeet Singh Naruka leading the pack with a score of 72.
