National Title Won by Roller Hockey Gold Squad with Ease

The Lindenwood roller hockey Gold squad made history once again by claiming their 17th title in program history with an impressive 8-0 shutout victory over Boston University in the National Collegiate Roller Hockey Association (NCRHA) Division AA Championship.

The Lions dominated the game from the start, taking an early 1-0 lead with a goal from Dillon Bilek assisted by Nicholaus Meyer. They continued to build on their lead with goals from Shaun Sapienza, Cameron Green, and Matthew Sherman, ending the second period with a commanding 5-0 advantage.

In the final frame, Lindenwood sealed the victory with two power play goals from Andrew Deciantis and Dillon Bilek. Clayton Davis was solid in goal, stopping all 14 shots he faced, while Sapienza earned Star No. 1 honors with a hat trick and two assists.

The Lions’ journey to the championship game was equally impressive, with shutout victories over Ohio State and the University of Massachusetts in the semifinals and quarterfinals, respectively. Their dominant performance throughout the tournament culminated in a third consecutive championship win, solidifying their status as a powerhouse in roller hockey.

With a season record of 16-4 overall, Lindenwood roller hockey Gold has proven once again that they are a force to be reckoned with in the Midwest Collegiate Roller Hockey League. Congratulations to the team on their historic victory and remarkable season!
