NBA 2023-24 Season: Nikola Jokic and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Lead All-NBA First Team

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic continues to add to his impressive resume, as he was named to the All-NBA First Team for the fourth time in his career, just two weeks after winning his third MVP award in five years.

Jokic, along with Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, was a unanimous selection on all 99 ballots from a panel of sportswriters and broadcasters. Joining them on the First Team were Luka Doncic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Jayson Tatum.

Despite his stellar performance in the regular season, where he averaged 26.4 points, 12.4 rebounds, and 9.0 assists, Jokic couldn’t lead the Nuggets past the Minnesota Timberwolves in the playoffs, as they were eliminated in seven games in the Western Conference semifinals.

Gilgeous-Alexander also had a standout season, leading the Thunder to the No. 1 seed in the West with averages of 30.1 points, 6.2 assists, and 5.5 rebounds per game.

The All-NBA Second Team featured players like Anthony Edwards, Jalen Brunson, Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard, and Anthony Davis, while the Third Team included Stephen Curry, Devin Booker, Tyrese Haliburton, LeBron James, and Domantas Sabonis.

LeBron James, who made his 20th consecutive All-NBA Team selection, set a league record as the youngest and oldest player to make the team at 20 and 39 years old, respectively.

With the NBA playoffs in full swing, fans can look forward to potential matchups between the best players in the league as they compete for a chance to win the championship.
