Neelkanth Cables Inaugurates State-of-the-Art Manufacturing Facility in Dubai Industrial City

In a significant move towards promoting local manufacturing and economic growth, leading Zambian cable maker Neelkanth Cables has officially opened its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at TECOM Group’s Dubai Industrial City. The inauguration ceremony, attended by high-level officials and dignitaries, marked a milestone in the company’s expansion plans and commitment to the UAE market.

With an investment of AED 130 million, the new factory spans an impressive 503,000 sq.ft. and is expected to accommodate 200 employees. The facility will focus on producing low- and medium-voltage conductors and instrumentation cables, with a projected annual throughput of 20,000 metric tonnes. This includes 13,000MT of copper and 7,000MT of aluminium power cables, catering to a wide range of industries such as power transmission and distribution, oil and gas, construction, and infrastructure.

Speaking at the inauguration, His Excellency Omar Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry Industry and Advanced Technology, highlighted the government’s support for industrial growth and investment in the UAE. He emphasized the importance of initiatives like Make it in the Emirates and the National ICV and Technology Transformation Programs in attracting international companies and fostering a competitive business environment.

Saud Abu Alshawareb, Executive Vice President of Industrial at TECOM Group, expressed pride in welcoming Neelkanth Cables to Dubai Industrial City’s industrial community. He emphasized the facility’s alignment with the city’s vision of nurturing a homegrown manufacturing ecosystem and driving growth in the industrial sector.
