Enabled Intelligence, a leading AI technology company, is making waves in the industry by prioritizing neurodiversity in its workforce. Cody Hart, a neurodivergent individual, found a new sense of purpose and fulfillment after joining the company in Falls Church, Virginia.
Hart, who struggled in a grocery store deli job before finding his place at Enabled Intelligence, shared how the company’s approach to hiring neurodiverse individuals has transformed his life. “They talk to us like everyday people, which is not something I would get very often when I was younger,” Hart said, highlighting the importance of understanding and acceptance in the workplace.
Enabled Intelligence recently announced plans to recruit 100 AI data annotators who are neurodiverse, including individuals on the Autism Spectrum, ADHD, Dyslexia, and more. CEO Peter Kant emphasized the unique skills that neurodivergent individuals bring to the table, describing them as having “almost superpowers” in detail orientation, pattern recognition, and analytical skills.
Partnering with nonprofit organization Melwood, Enabled Intelligence is providing a 14-week boot camp to prepare neurodiverse individuals for careers in AI data annotation. Melwood President & CEO Larysa Kautz emphasized the value of IT certifications and soft skills training in helping neurodivergent individuals succeed in the workforce.
The initiative has garnered support from Virginia Democrats, including Congressman Don Beyer and Senators Tim Kaine and Mark Warner, who secured federal funding to support Melwood’s Neurodivergent Workforce Initiative. Hart expressed gratitude for the opportunities and support he has received, highlighting the importance of programs like these for individuals like himself.
Enabled Intelligence’s commitment to neurodiversity is not only changing the lives of individuals like Cody Hart but also setting a new standard for inclusivity and innovation in the AI industry.
