New Health Connect stats integration coming to Fitbit app

Fitbit users can now integrate their Health Connect wearables and services into the Fitbit Android app, allowing for a more comprehensive view of their health and fitness data. The new feature, announced at the end of February, is slowly being rolled out to users.

To set up the integration, users can tap on the devices/battery percentage button in the top-left corner of the Today feed. From there, they can add connections and enable the “New Health Connect features” card, which allows them to see data from other health and fitness apps within the Fitbit app.

Users can customize which metrics they want to sync from Health Connect to Fitbit, giving them control over the data they see. Once set up, users can view the new stats in the You tab under a new “Records” section. They can choose to display data from Fitbit only or from Health Connect as well.

It’s important to note that while users can see Health Connect data in the Fitbit app, their Fitbit devices will only display Fitbit data. Additionally, users won’t receive Fitbit badges based on Health Connect data.

As of now, the Health Connect feature is only available on select instances of the Fitbit app, with most devices still awaiting the rollout. This integration aims to provide users with a more holistic view of their health and fitness data, allowing them to track their progress more effectively.
