New high-speed ferry service launched from Lakshadweep to Mangaluru for tourists | Explore the Travel Experience

The journey from the mainland to the picturesque Lakshadweep Islands just got a lot quicker and smoother with the introduction of the high-speed vessel ‘Parali’. This vessel recently ferried 160 passengers from the Lakshadweep Islands to the Mangaluru old port in just seven hours, cutting down the travel time by a significant five hours compared to the previous 13-hour journey.

Tourists on board the ‘HSC Parali’ expressed their delight at the new experience, praising the high-speed connectivity and the smoothness of the ride. The Lakshadweep Islands Tourism Development Authority, formed under the Central Tourism Ministry, is set to launch the Mangalore-Lakshadweep tourist liner service after a few trial runs.

With Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to the Lakshadweep Islands, efforts have been made to improve connectivity between the mainland and the islands. This initiative is seen as the first step towards making travel easier for the people of Lakshadweep, opening up opportunities for various types of tourism including eco-tourism, educational tours, health retreats, and recreational activities in the mainland.
