New skipper Salima prepared for European leg of Pro League following lessons learned in South Africa

Indian women’s hockey team’s new captain Salima Tete is gearing up to lead her team in the European leg of the FIH Pro League after a successful home series against South Africa. With valuable lessons learned from the friendly series, the team is determined to make a mark on the international stage.

Having taken over the captaincy from former skipper Savita Punia, Salima is ready to showcase the team’s best performance in Antwerp, Belgium, where they will face Argentina in their first match on Wednesday. The team managed to secure a 4-2 win in the friendly series against South Africa, displaying their resilience and determination.

Vice-captain Navneet Kaur is equally committed to supporting Salima and the team in their quest for success. She sees her role as both a privilege and a responsibility, and is determined to motivate her teammates to give their all in every game.
