New Tech High School graduates Class of 2024 captured in photos

Central Coast New Tech High School in Nipomo celebrated the graduation of 54 students from the Class of 2024 in a commencement ceremony on June 8th. The school boasted a 100% graduation rate, with all students successfully completing their high school journey.

Principal Sarah Butler highlighted the achievements of the class, noting that they had eight valedictorians this year. The valedictorians were Cole Aguirre, Skyler Cross, Lily Gash, Leo Ramirez, Lillyanna Ramirez, Victoria Reece, Katie Szlauko, and Leila Zavala. These students excelled not only academically but also in various extracurricular activities.

Butler praised the class for their outstanding performance on state test scores, with high percentages meeting or exceeding standards in English language arts, science, and mathematics. She also highlighted the diverse interests and talents of the graduates, ranging from athletics to the arts to social activism.

As the students prepare to embark on their next chapter, they have diverse plans for the future. Many will continue their education at institutions like Cuesta Community College, Cal Poly, and UC Santa Barbara, while others will pursue careers in the military, beauty industry, or workforce.

The graduating class collectively earned $110,000 in scholarships, showcasing their dedication and hard work. Butler described the students as resilient, supportive, and empathetic individuals who care deeply about their community. The ceremony was a testament to the bright futures ahead for these graduates as they move on to new adventures.
