New Yoga Sequence to Strengthen Your Core Muscles: YogMantra

Reading Time: 2 minutes

In today’s fast-paced world, where the emphasis is often on achieving the perfect physique, the importance of core strength is often overlooked. Our exercise routines are usually geared towards achieving toned abs and a visually appealing appearance. However, the focus has now shifted towards building a strong core for better posture, balance, and stability.

Core muscles, which include the abs, are located in the abdomen, pelvis, and back. These muscles play a crucial role in supporting the body and absorbing the impact of various activities. A strong core not only helps in preventing injuries but also contributes to overall physical well-being.

One form of exercise that places a strong emphasis on core strength is Yoga. Yoga not only helps in toning the muscles but also promotes the functioning of vital organs in the abdominal cavity, the nervous system, vascular vessels, and secretion glands. Yoga poses such as Phalakasana, Setubandhasana, Naukasana, and Vashishtasana are specifically designed to target the core muscles and improve overall strength and flexibility.

According to Dr. Jayadeva Yogendra, a renowned Yoga guru, the development of muscles should not come at the cost of other important systems of the body. Yoga focuses on building strength and promoting good health in a non-violent and non-fatiguing manner. The key lies in practicing Yoga with mindfulness and awareness, rather than pushing the body to its limits.

A sustainable Yoga sequence for core muscles includes poses like Kapalbhati Kriya, Diaphragmatic breathing, Seated Parvatasana, Yogamudrasana, Sarpasana, Pada Sanchalanasana, and Savasana. These poses help in strengthening the core muscles, improving flexibility, and promoting overall well-being. It is recommended to practice these poses regularly for at least 20 minutes a day to start seeing noticeable benefits.

It is important to note that before starting any new exercise routine, especially Yoga, it is essential to consult with a physician or an experienced Yoga teacher. Yoga practices should be learned under the guidance of a qualified instructor to ensure safety and effectiveness.

In conclusion, the shift from obsessing over abs to focusing on core strength is a positive change in the fitness world. By incorporating Yoga into our exercise routines and prioritizing core strength, we can improve our overall physical health and well-being. So, let’s shift our focus from achieving the perfect abs to building a strong and healthy core for a better and more balanced life.
