Newfoundland vodka wins prestigious international award

Wooden Walls Distilling, a Newfoundland-based distillery, has made waves in the spirits industry by winning a top prize at the World Vodka Awards. Their Evening Tide Vodka was named the best in the varietal vodka category, surpassing competitors from North America, Europe, and Australia.

Judges praised the vodka for its “funky and distinct aroma” and “compelling unique quality.” Co-founder Peter Madden attributed the success of their vodka to the use of a mix of wheat, rye, and oats, as well as a long fermentation process that sets it apart from other spirits.
