Patrick Ohaver, the coordinator of the Methodist Hospitals Sports Medicine Program, has been awarded the prestigious title of Athletic Trainer of the Year for NATA District 4. This recognition by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) Secondary School Committee puts Ohaver in the running for the National Secondary School Athletic Trainer of the Year award. The NATA annual conference, where the final winner will be announced, is set to take place in June in New Orleans.
In other news, the PNW Big Sell pitch competition recently concluded with three innovators taking home investment capital for their startup pitches. Jonathan Rose claimed first place and $10,000 for his ModMath application, designed to assist students with dyslexia and dysgraphia in completing math exercises digitally. Emily Edwards and Danielle Cruz-Lopez secured second and third place, respectively, for their innovative pitches.
Furthermore, Mamon Powers Jr. is set to receive the inaugural Methodist Hospitals Champion Medal at the upcoming Methodist Hospitals Foundation gala on June 1. Powers has been recognized for his unwavering dedication and service to Methodist Hospitals in various governance capacities over the years.
Additionally, Indiana University Northwest’s School of Business and Economics will be hosting the Economic Development Academy, a seven-week training program focused on regional economic development. The program, led by regional economic development professionals, aims to connect economic development approaches with practice through research, case studies, and guest speakers.
