Abu Dhabi Police Surprise Good Drivers with Free Petrol Cards

In a heartwarming gesture, Abu Dhabi police officers recently pulled over several drivers not to issue traffic fines but to surprise them with free petrol cards. The initiative was part of the ongoing Arab Traffic Week awareness activities aimed at rewarding drivers who follow traffic rules.

The Happiness Patrol officers were back on the roads, spreading joy and appreciation to motorists who demonstrated safe driving habits. Along with Adnoc petrol cards, the good drivers were also given gifts and brochures on road safety, as reported by Lt-Col Nasser Abdullah Al Saadi, section head at the Security Media Department.

Lt-Col Al Saadi emphasized the importance of observing traffic rules and avoiding violations for the safety of everyone on the road. The Arab Traffic Week, which runs until May 10, focuses on raising public awareness about the significance of respecting traffic regulations and staying focused while driving.

This initiative is not the first of its kind by the Abu Dhabi Police, as they have previously surprised good drivers with special gifts like TV sets and certificates to acknowledge their efforts. Similar programs are also conducted in other emirates from time to time to promote safe driving practices.

Maj Nasser Saleh bin Badouh Al Darmaki, head of the Happiness Patrol Team at the Traffic and Security Patrols Directorate, highlighted that honoring responsible motorists is part of the efforts to enhance “traffic positivity” and contribute to road safety.

The video of the campaign showcases the heartwarming interactions between the police officers and the surprised drivers, spreading positivity and appreciation on the roads of Abu Dhabi. The initiative not only rewards good behavior but also serves as a reminder for all drivers to prioritize safety and follow traffic rules diligently.

As the Arab Traffic Week continues, the Abu Dhabi Police are committed to promoting safe driving practices and encouraging motorists to be responsible on the roads. By recognizing and rewarding good drivers, the authorities aim to create a culture of respect for traffic laws and ensure the well-being of all road users.

The gesture of giving free petrol cards to drivers is a refreshing approach to enforcement and serves as a reminder that positive behavior on the roads does not go unnoticed. It is a reminder that small acts of kindness and appreciation can go a long way in promoting road safety and creating a harmonious driving environment for everyone.
