Claremont High School Welcomes New Assistant Principal of Student Services

Claremont Unified School District’s Board of Education has announced the appointment of Tara Moxley as the new assistant principal of student services at Claremont High School, effective July 1. Moxley, who was selected from a pool of 54 applicants, brings over a decade of experience from her various roles in the Upland Unified School District.

In addition to Moxley’s appointment, the board unanimously approved its annual declaration of need for fully qualified educators. This declaration is essential for estimating emergency permit needs and preparing for unplanned staffing changes for the upcoming school year.

During the meeting, the board also recognized outstanding individuals in the district. Julie Olesniewicz, Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, received the David Millen Mentoring Award, while Kara Evans, coordinator of educational technology, was honored with the Promising Administrator Award. Amy Stanger, Principal of Sycamore Elementary School, received the Claremont Management Association Charter Leadership Award.

Furthermore, El Roble Intermediate School teacher Geoffrey Payton was named the 2024-2025 CUSD Teacher of the Year, although he was not present at the meeting.

The board also addressed various annual business matters, including approving resolutions related to improvement projects and the levy and collection of annual assessments within the CUSD Recreation Assessment District. The estimated cost for recreational facilities’ installation, maintenance, and service is projected to be approximately $1,190,592.

The next CUSD Board of Education meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, at the Richard S. Kirkendall Education Center. Stay tuned for more updates on the district’s initiatives and achievements.
