The letter, which justified the 2001 attack on the World Trade Center that claimed the lives of nearly 3,000 people, found an audience among young Americans who were unfamiliar with bin Laden and the tragic events of 9/11.

Further highlighting the lack of knowledge among the youth, a group of students chanting in support of the Palestinian cause were unable to identify the “river to the sea” reference, with some even naming the Caribbean as the sea in question.
