Niagara College business students excel in global competition

Niagara College students have proven their mettle on the global stage by securing the third-place overall rank at the prestigious Corvinus Undergraduate Business Experience (CUBE) in Hungary. The international business case competition, held in Budapest from April 4 to 12, saw a team of four students from Niagara College’s School of Business and Management competing against sixteen esteemed schools from around the world.

Despite being the only college in the competition, the NC team showcased their analytical and problem-solving skills with passion and determination. With the guidance of their faculty advisors and professors, Terri Champion and Stefan Johnson, the students excelled in both the seven-hour and 24-hour case challenges, ultimately earning the third-place overall rank.

The competition provided a unique format that not only challenged the teams but also focused on their professional development. Niagara College students stood out by securing a first-place finish in their division for the 24-hour case challenge, beating out renowned universities like Hong Kong Polytechnic University and University of Minnesota. Additionally, they placed second in their division for the seven-hour case challenge.

The students’ hard work and dedication paid off as they were recognized at a gala awards dinner, where Niagara College was proudly announced as the third-place winner overall. This significant achievement highlights the caliber of education and talent at Niagara College’s School of Business and Management, setting a high standard for future competitions and showcasing the students’ ability to compete with the best and brightest on a global scale.
