Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy made headlines in the cricket world as he became the most expensive player in the history of the Andhra Premier League (APL) T20 competition. The 20-year-old, who is currently showcasing his talent for SRH in the Indian Premier League (IPL), was bought by the Godavari Titans team for a whopping Rs 15.6 lakh.
Nitish’s exceptional all-round performance in the IPL has caught the attention of many, with his ability to hit sixes and bowl pace bowling proving to be a valuable asset for his team. In the ongoing IPL 2024 season, he has scored 239 runs at an impressive average of 47.80 and a strike rate of over 152, including two half-centuries. His best knock of 76* against Rajasthan Royals was a match-winning performance, where he smashed three fours and eight sixes.
The APL is a domestic T20 league organized by the Andra Cricket Association, featuring six teams including Bezawada Tigers, Coastal Riders, Godavari Titans, Rayalseema Kings, Uttarandhra Lions, and Vizag Warriors. International Indian cricketers like Srikar Bharat and Hanuma Vihari have also participated in this league.
As SRH gears up to face Gujarat Titans in their upcoming match, they are just a win away from securing a playoff spot, currently standing at the third spot in the points table with 14 points. On the other hand, GT is out of the tournament with 11 points, having won five games and lost seven.
