The Wildcats started strong, securing the doubles point with wins on courts one and two. Reece Carter and Brandelyn Fulgenzi upset ASU’s Chelsea Fontenel and Patricija Spaka with a 6-2 victory, while Belen Nevenhoven and Martyna Ostrzygalo sealed the deal with a 6-4 win.
However, ASU fought back in the singles competition, earning the first three points on courts one, three, and four. Brandelyn Fulgenzi and Tanvi Narendran managed to secure points for Arizona, but it was not enough to overcome the Sun Devils.
The match came down to a neck-and-neck battle on court two between Kayla Wilkins and Chelsea Fontenel. After splitting sets, Fontenel ultimately clinched the victory with a 6-4 win in the final set.
