Disney fans are in for a treat as the entertainment giant has announced three new cast members for its upcoming live-to-film concert event, The Lion King at the Hollywood Bowl. Set to take place on May 24 and May 25 in celebration of the original animated movie’s 30th anniversary, the event will feature performances from a star-studded lineup.
Joining the cast are North West, the eldest daughter of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, Grammy winner Heather Headley, and original Lion King composer Lebo M. They will be performing alongside previously announced cast members such as Jeremy Irons, Nathan Lane, Billy Eichner, and Jennifer Hudson.
Fans can expect to be transported to the Pride Lands as a full orchestra performs Hans Zimmer’s iconic musical score, led by conductor Sarah Hicks. The concert will feature immersive live performances of beloved songs like ‘Can You Feel The Love Tonight’ and ‘Hakuna Matata,’ capturing the magic of the original film and Broadway show.
Produced by Disney Branded Television and Fulwell 73 Productions, the event will showcase the evolution of The Lion King over the past 30 years, from the animated classic to the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical to the 2019 live-action film. Creative showrunners Gabe Turner and Sally Wood, along with director Paul Dugdale and production designer Misty Buckley, are working together to bring this special event to life.
