The Northern Michigan University women’s lacrosse team is on the brink of making history as they compete in the GLIAC Tournament this weekend. With just two wins standing between them and the championship title, the Wildcats are gearing up for a tough battle against the top teams in the league.

Having finished second in the conference with a 4-2 record and an impressive 13-4 overall record, NMU is set to face off against Concordia-St. Paul in the semifinals today. The Wildcats previously defeated CSP 21-12 at home and secured another win on the road with a score of 11-5.

Led by standout players Minnie Bittell and Kaitlyn Bridger, who have been dominating the scoring charts all season, NMU is confident in their ability to come out on top. Bittell, who was named GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week multiple times this season, has already broken the 300-point mark for her career, while Bridger is just two points away from reaching 100 career points.

With Grand Valley State and Davenport also vying for the championship title, the competition is fierce. However, the Wildcats are determined to showcase their skills and bring home the trophy. Last year, NMU defeated CSP in the opening round of the conference tournament, and they are hoping to repeat that success this year.

Stay tuned for more updates on the GLIAC Tournament as the Northern Michigan University women’s lacrosse team fights for glory on the field.
