The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2024 exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) today has been marred by controversy as social media posts claim that the question paper has been leaked. The exam took place in 557 cities across India and 14 cities abroad in multiple exam centers.
One particular incident at the Girls Higher Secondary Adarsh Vidya Mandir in Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan, has raised eyebrows. Hindi medium students allege that they were handed the English medium question paper. While NTA has acknowledged the error of providing the wrong question paper, they have vehemently denied any reports of a paper leak.
A senior NTA official clarified, “Where the instances of ‘paper leak’ are being claimed are completely false and it is being done just to sensationalize news. In an isolated incident at Girls Higher Secondary Adarsh Vidya Mandir, students were given the wrong question paper, and some students forcefully walked out of the exam hall with the question paper before the mistake could be rectified.”
The official further explained that students are only allowed to exit the hall with the question paper after the exam, but due to the students’ actions, the question paper was circulated on the internet around 4 pm. However, by that time, the exam had already started at all other centers across the country, so there was no actual leak of the NEET UG question paper.
The NTA has assured that they are investigating the matter further to ensure the integrity of the examination process.
