Nubia introduces budget-friendly smartphone featuring AI technology

Artificial intelligence-powered smartphones are making a splash in the domestic market with affordable options starting at just 1,000 yuan (US$140). Nubia, backed by ZTE, has launched its entry-level AI phone Xiaoniu, priced from 799 yuan. This budget-friendly device boasts 5G capabilities, AI features for translation, chatting, content generation, and an impressive 100-megapixel camera.

With a focus on making AI accessible to all, Nubia’s “AI for All” strategy aims to democratize this technology in the smartphone industry. Traditionally, flagship models from brands like Samsung and Vivo have incorporated on-device AI, but at a much higher price point exceeding 5,000 yuan.

In addition to Xiaoniu, Nubia has introduced two other models – the Nubia Z60 Ultra for enhanced camera and design, and a foldable model called Flip. These devices are now available for purchase, catering to a wide range of consumer preferences.

Meanwhile, Realme has entered the AI phone market with the GT Neo6 SE, featuring a high brightness display screen developed by tech giant BOE. This model includes AI-powered features for eyecare, making it ideal for eSports enthusiasts. Priced from 1,699 yuan, the GT Neo6 SE offers advanced AI capabilities for tasks such as travel itinerary generation, essay writing, and photo editing.

Industry analysts predict that AI-powered smartphones will become a necessity in the 2024 market, driving demand for affordable options. With powerful processors, tailored AI services, and innovative designs, these devices are set to revolutionize the way we interact with technology.
