NWU Hosts First-Ever Spring Sport Science Summit – India Education | Latest Updates in Education | Global Educational News

The Faculty of Health Sciences at the Potchefstroom Campus of the North-West University (NWU) is set to host the first-ever Spring Sport Science Summit from 16 to 19 September. This groundbreaking event aims to promote academic excellence and professional development in the field of sport and coaching sciences, with a specific focus on performance enhancement and injury prevention.

Prof Hans de Ridder, director of the School for Human Movement Sciences at NWU, highlighted the importance of staying at the cutting edge of sport science in order to maintain a competitive edge in the world of sports. The summit will feature pre-conference workshops, international keynote speakers, and seminars on various sports including soccer, rugby, netball, hockey, and athletics.

Renowned speakers such as Prof Masa Ito from Japan, Dr Phathokuhle Zondi, Prof Pieter Kruger, Timothy Qumbu, Matt Proudfoot, and Duitser Bosman will be sharing their expertise at the summit. The event also presents networking opportunities and the chance to explore collaborative projects and partnerships.

Online registrations for the summit opened on 1 May, with accommodation available at the NWU Sports Village within walking distance of the summit venue. Prof De Ridder encouraged colleagues from around the world to submit abstracts and register for the summit, expressing excitement about welcoming participants to the beautiful campus in September.
