The New York Times has launched a new puzzle game called Connections, challenging players to categorize a pool of 16 words into four secret groups by identifying how they relate to each other. The game resets daily at midnight with varying levels of difficulty, similar to the popular game Wordle. Players can track their winning streak and compare scores with friends.
In Connections, players are presented with a grid of 16 words and must organize them into sets of four by recognizing the connections between them. These connections could be based on themes like video game titles, book series sequels, shades of red, or chain restaurant names. While some words may seem to fit multiple themes, there is only one correct answer.
Each group is color-coded, with the yellow group being the easiest to solve, followed by green, blue, and purple. Players can shuffle the grid of words and rearrange them to help identify the connections. They must select four words and submit their answer – if correct, the words will be removed, and the connecting theme revealed. Players have only four mistakes before the game ends.
For those struggling with today’s puzzle, hints and themes are provided to assist in solving the Connections. The game is designed to be challenging, but players can check back daily for new puzzles. So, if you’re up for a brain-teasing challenge, give Connections a try and see if you can crack the code!
