NYT Connections: Friday, May 17 – Hints and Answers

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The New York Times has launched a new puzzle game called Connections, challenging players to categorize a pool of 16 words into four secret groups by identifying how they relate to each other. The game resets daily at midnight, offering a new puzzle with varying levels of difficulty. Similar to Wordle, players can track their winning streak and compare scores with friends.

In Connections, players must organize the words into sets of four by recognizing the connections between them. The themes could range from titles of video game franchises to names of chain restaurants. Each group is color-coded, with yellow being the easiest and purple the most challenging.

Players can shuffle the grid of words to help identify the connections and submit their answers. If correct, the words are removed, and the theme is revealed. However, players only have four mistakes before the game ends.

Today’s themes include “CORRUPT,” “REACH OUT TO,” “CLASSIC STILL LIFE COMPONENTS,” and “BEER ___.” For those struggling, one word from each group is provided as a hint.

The game is designed to be difficult, but players can check back daily for new puzzles. If you’re up for the challenge, test your skills with Connections and see if you can crack the code!
