OCBC unveils new 20,000 sq ft lifestyle and banking space at Wisma Atria, its second-largest location after OCBC Centre

OCBC Bank has recently opened its second-largest branch at Wisma Atria, a 20,000 sq ft lifestyle and banking space that is revolutionizing the traditional banking experience. The branch features six retail and F&B partners, with a third of the floor area dedicated to retail, including a 10-seater omakase restaurant.

Since its soft launch in August, the Wisma Atria branch has seen a significant increase in customer engagement. Monthly applications for credit cards have been five times higher than the average branch, while the value of monthly personal loans disbursed has been 1.5 times higher. Additionally, monthly wealth income from the branch is 30% higher than the income from its former Orchard Gateway branch, which closed in August.

The branch offers a unique experience for customers, with relationship managers available to meet with personal banking customers in five open pods and seven enclosed rooms. Premier banking clients can also take advantage of nine meeting rooms for more personalized service.

In terms of retail offerings, the branch features homeware from SCENE SHANG, lifestyle products from Crane Living, and over 5,000 titles from Malaysian bookstore chain BookXcess. Customers can also enjoy Orange Mocha Café, artworks from Art Porters Gallery, and dine at Sushi Moka, the 10-seater omakase restaurant.

The branch is open daily, with banking services available from 11am to 7pm and retailers operating for two additional hours in the evenings. OCBC cardholders can enjoy discounts of 10% off retail purchases and 8% off art pieces.

According to OCBC, about 20% of the branch’s walk-in customers are foreigners, highlighting the appeal of the branch to a diverse customer base. OCBC Group CEO Helen Wong emphasized the importance of the Wisma Atria branch in capturing the rising Asian wealth and attracting new customers, both local and foreign.

With another branch located along the underpass between ION Orchard and Wisma Atria, OCBC has no plans to close that branch due to its high footfall. Instead, the bank sees it as an opportunity to direct customers to the new Wisma Atria branch upstairs.

OCBC Bank currently has 31 branches across the island, along with four FRANK branches in campuses. The bank has been refreshing its branches with lifestyle concepts, with branches in Ang Mo Kio Central, Jurong Point, and Tampines already revamped this year.

Sunny Quek, head of global consumer financial services at OCBC Bank, emphasized the importance of branches as touchpoints for customers, especially for complex financial advisory conversations. While digital capabilities are important, branches provide a level of intimacy, clarity, and trust that customers value.

As the physical branch evolves, OCBC continues to invest in data analytics and management to ensure a seamless experience across all channels. The goal is to provide customers with the flexibility to use various touchpoints interchangeably without having to repeat their requests or needs.
