Reading Time: < 1 minute

The Ohio EPA is celebrating the success of various environmental education projects across the state that have been funded through grants from the Ohio Environmental Education Fund. These projects, which were awarded grants between 2014 and 2023, have been recognized by the Environmental Education Council of Ohio and the EPA for their commitment to protecting Ohio’s natural resources.

Ohio EPA Director Anne Vogel expressed her pride in investing in Ohio’s teachers and students, who are working towards Governor DeWine’s goal of safeguarding the environment for future generations. The funding provided by the Ohio EPA has supported a wide range of projects at schools and organizations throughout the state.

Some of the highlighted projects include the New Philadelphia High School Tick Project, the Incorporating Community Voices project at Oberlin College, and the School Cafeteria Waste Reduction project at Boardman Local School District. These initiatives focus on topics such as forest ecosystems, wetlands conservation, clean energy careers, and water quality monitoring.

Other recognized projects include the Green STEM Girls program at Franklin Park Conservatory, the Habitat Heroes project at Miami County Park District, and the Microgrid Engineers of Tomorrow project at Clair Superior Development Corp. These projects showcase the diverse range of environmental education efforts taking place in Ohio.
