Ohio State Men’s Tennis Dominates Michigan to Win Big Ten Tournament Championship

In a thrilling showdown at the Combe Tennis Center in Evanston, Illinois, Ohio State’s men’s tennis team secured a decisive 4-1 victory over archrival Michigan to claim their 15th Big Ten Tournament championship under head coach Ty Tucker. This win also marked the Buckeyes’ 16th conference tournament title in program history.

The Buckeyes got off to a strong start by easily winning the doubles point, with Cannon Kingsley and Jack Anthrop leading the charge. The momentum carried over into singles matches, where Ohio State continued to dominate their opponents.

Notable performances included Anthrop’s impressive victory over Hanchaikul and Kingsley’s commanding win against Bickersteth. Despite Michigan’s efforts to rally, Ohio State’s JJ Tracy sealed the deal with a clutch win over Swenson, securing the team’s victory.

With this win, Ohio State completed a season sweep of Michigan, adding to their already impressive record. As the Big Ten regular-season and postseason champions and the top-ranked team in the latest ITA Poll, the Buckeyes are poised to earn the No. 1 overall seed in the upcoming NCAA Tournament.

Fans can look forward to watching Ohio State in action as they host an NCAA Regional at the Ty Tucker Tennis Center and Auer Tennis Complex from May 3-5. If they advance, the Buckeyes will also host an NCAA Super Regional in Columbus on May 10-11, with the ultimate goal of competing in the final rounds of the NCAA Tournament in Stillwater, Oklahoma, from May 16-19.
