Old Dominion Women’s Tennis Team Claims Second Consecutive Sun Belt Conference Championship

In an exciting match at the Rome Tennis Center, the Old Dominion women’s tennis team secured their second consecutive Sun Belt Conference Championship with a 4-2 victory over App State. The Monarchs, ranked No. 66 nationally and the No. 1 overall seed, showcased their dominance on the court with wins on four singles courts.

App State, the No. 7 seed, put up a strong fight, starting the match ahead with a 1-0 lead after winning the doubles point. However, Old Dominion quickly turned the tide in singles play, taking a 3-1 lead with impressive straight-set victories.
