Reading Time: < 1 minute

Olivia Kayser’s outstanding performance led the Hanson Beavers to a 12-7 victory over the Parkston Trojans in a high school softball game on Monday. Kayser dominated both at the plate and on the mound, going 3-for-3 with two doubles, a home run, and four RBIs, while also pitching a complete game with seven strikeouts.

Cadence Jarding, Reese Marek, Dakota Jarding, and Jozlynn Tegethoff also contributed to the Beavers’ offensive onslaught, combining for multiple hits and RBIs. The team recorded 12 hits and drew nine walks in total.

On the other side, Lexi Schoenfelder stood out for the Trojans, driving in five runs on three hits, including a triple and an inside-the-park home run. Ali Moke and Grace Lindeman also had strong performances, each contributing two hits and two runs scored.

Despite the loss, Parkston showed resilience with Allie Hobbick pitching a complete game and striking out 10 batters. With this win, Hanson improved to 8-3 on the season, while Parkston, in its inaugural season, holds a 2-3 record.

Both teams are gearing up for their next games, with Hanson set to face Mount Vernon/Plankinton and Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy in a triangular on Friday, and Parkston preparing to take on Wagner on Thursday. The game showcased the talent and determination of these young athletes as they continue to compete in the high school softball season.
