Olof Persson appointed as CEO of Iveco Group, succeeding Gerrit Marx effective July 2024

Olof Persson to Succeed Gerrit Marx as CEO of Iveco Group N.V.

In a recent announcement, the Board of Iveco Group N.V. revealed that Olof Persson will be taking over as the Group’s CEO, succeeding Gerrit Marx. Marx is set to leave the Group to assume the role of CEO at CNH Industrial N.V. on July 1st, 2024.

Persson, who currently serves as an Independent Director on the Iveco Group Board, will step into the CEO position after being closely involved in the development of the Group’s plans as presented at the recent Capital Markets Day.

Suzanne Heywood, Chair of Iveco Group, expressed gratitude towards Marx for his successful leadership and welcomed Persson as the new CEO. Heywood highlighted Persson’s industry experience and his role in ensuring continuity in executing the Group’s plans.

Persson, in response to his appointment, praised the Iveco Group team for embracing digital opportunities and alternative propulsion technologies. He expressed his excitement to lead the company and maintain a focus on stakeholders and capabilities.

Marx, acknowledging Persson’s contributions, commended the team’s achievements during his tenure and expressed confidence in the Group’s future under Persson’s leadership.

With an extensive background in executive leadership, including roles at ABB, Bombardier Transportation, and Volvo Group, Persson brings a wealth of experience to his new position as CEO of Iveco Group.

The Group’s first-quarter financial results will be presented by Marx on May 10th, 2024, as planned. The transition to Persson’s leadership marks a new chapter for Iveco Group as they continue to drive innovation and sustainability in the industry.
