Opel Unveils Stylish and Dynamic Grandland with Fully Electrified Drivetrain

Opel has officially unveiled the new Grandland, a stylish and dynamic SUV with a fully electrified drivetrain portfolio. The carmaker based in Rüsselsheim has brought many design features from the Opel Experimental concept car to life for the first time on a serial production model.

The Grandland boasts the 3D Vizor with an illuminated Blitz logo at the center, as well as the permanently illuminated “OPEL” lettering at the rear. The Intelli-Lux Pixel HD lighting system with over 50,000 individual elements, along with the BEV-native STLA Medium platform and new flat battery packaging design, allows for a 98 kWh battery. This enables the Grandland Electric to cover up to around 700 kilometers locally emissions-free.

Opel CEO Florian Huettl expressed excitement about the new Grandland, calling it a milestone for the brand’s electric offensive. The new SUV was designed and developed in Rüsselsheim and will be built in Eisenach, strengthening Opel’s position in the C-SUV segment.

The Grandland represents a major step for Opel in making electro-mobility more appealing, thanks to the Stellantis STLA Medium BEV-native platform. The new architecture, flat battery packaging, and energy-saving features allow for a WLTP electric range of up to around 700 kilometers.

With its innovative design features, spacious interior, and array of driver assistance systems, the new Grandland is set to lead Opel’s SUV portfolio into the future of electrification.
