In Saudi Arabia, the establishment of museums and archaeology departments has flourished, with 57 museums now spread across the country. These museums showcase artifacts dating back over 1,400 years, educating visitors and broadening their understanding of the Kingdom’s history.
One of the most popular museums in Makkah is the Alssalamu Alaika Ayyuha Annabi Museum, which houses a collection of Qur’anic verses and artifacts from the era of Prophet Muhammad. The Umm Al-Qura Museum, located in King Abdulaziz’s palace, features historical tombstones and rock drawings dating back centuries.
The Clock Tower Museum, a notable landmark in Makkah, plays a crucial role in determining prayer times and offers exhibits on eclipses, planets, and lunar phenomena. Visitors can also enjoy live stargazing experiences and explore scientific journals on celestial movements.
