Oracle increases its artificial intelligence investments in India | Company News

Oracle, the Texas-based technology giant, is ramping up its investments in artificial intelligence (AI) in India to support enterprises in scaling AI and generative AI (GenAI). Chris Chelliah, senior vice president of technology and customer strategy at Oracle Japan and Asia Pacific, highlighted the company’s commitment to bringing AI to every layer of the enterprise stack, from software as a service (SaaS) apps to infrastructure.

The latest release of Oracle’s converged database, Oracle Database 23ai, is a testament to the company’s focus on AI. This version includes Oracle AI Vector Search and over 300 additional features aimed at simplifying AI usage with data, accelerating app development, and running mission-critical workloads.

Oracle Database 23ai is now available on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) on various platforms, including Oracle Exadata Database Service and Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer. Juan Loaiza, executive vice president of mission-critical database technologies at Oracle, hailed the release as a game-changer for enterprises worldwide.

As part of its global AI expansion strategy, Oracle is set to invest approximately $10 billion in data center expansion. With 68 customer-facing cloud regions already in operation, the company plans to enhance capacity at 66 existing data centers to meet the growing demand for AI workloads and enterprise migrations.

Oracle’s Q3 cloud revenue, including infrastructure as a service (IaaS) and SaaS, reached $5.1 billion, marking a 24% increase in constant currency. The company’s total revenue also saw a 7% growth in constant currency, reaching $13.3 billion. With a strong financial performance and a clear focus on AI innovation, Oracle is poised for further growth and success in the AI landscape.
