Dubai Land Department Receives Over 1,000 Registrations for Real Estate Brokers Programme
In a significant development towards enhancing the participation of Emirati citizens in the real estate sector, Dubai Land Department has received over 1,000 registrations for the Dubai Real Estate Brokers Programme since mid-March. This initiative, a key component of Dubai’s Social Agenda 33, aims to triple the number of citizens employed in the private sector, particularly in the real estate industry.
The programme has already formed 25 strategic alliances with development and real estate brokerage companies in the private sector, showcasing the strong commitment of the real estate industry in Dubai towards supporting national talent. His Excellency Engineer Marwan bin Ghalita, Acting Director General of Dubai Land Department, expressed his satisfaction with the significant interest shown by citizens, developers, and real estate brokers in the programme.
Engineer Marwan bin Ghalita highlighted the positive impact of the programme, stating that it reflects citizens’ eagerness to engage as real estate brokers and recognizes the pivotal role of Dubai’s real estate sector locally and globally. He emphasized the collaboration between the private and public sectors in Dubai, with the programme aiming to increase the number of Emirati real estate brokers from 5% to 15% over the next three years.
As part of the programme, more than 15 training workshops are scheduled to be conducted by the end of the year. The training sessions, hosted by the New Economy Academy, are designed to empower, qualify, and train participants, providing them with the necessary skills to obtain a real estate broker license and excel in the profession. These workshops are a vital component of the ‘Rehabilitation Project’ within the real estate brokerage sector, aimed at improving industry practices and standards.
The Dubai Real Estate Brokers Programme also includes various support packages for participants, such as collaboration on joint projects, vocational training, and guidance to enhance their competitiveness in the real estate sector. Efforts will be made to allocate a portion of development company sales to be marketed by Emirati real estate brokers, further contributing to the empowerment of national citizens in the industry.
Aligned with Dubai’s Social Agenda 33 and Economic Agenda D33, the programme aims to establish Dubai as a nurturing environment for national talents and integrate more Emiratis into the labor market. By expanding the presence of citizen brokers in the real estate sector, Dubai is set to solidify its status as a skilled and specialized professional hub.
With the enthusiastic response to the Dubai Real Estate Brokers Programme and the strong partnerships formed with private sector companies, Dubai Land Department is paving the way for increased Emirati participation in the real estate industry, driving economic growth and empowering national citizens in the process.
