Venture to Join Overwatch 2 Roster

Blizzard Entertainment has announced the arrival of Overwatch 2’s latest hero, Venture, a non-binary archeologist armed with a powerful drill. Players will have the opportunity to test out Venture during a free trial this weekend, from March 28 to 31, before the hero officially joins the game in Season 10. The best part? No battle pass is required to unlock Venture.

Unique Gameplay Abilities

Venture’s gameplay trailer showcases their unique abilities, including the use of a massive drill called the Smart Excavator to burrow underground and attack enemies. Their kit includes a seismic charge for ranged attacks, a Drill Dash ability for quick movement, and passive abilities like Explorer’s Resolve and Clobber to enhance their combat skills. Venture’s ultimate ability, Tectonic Shock, unleashes devastating shockwaves on grounded enemies.

Season 10 Launch and Future Updates

With Overwatch 2’s new progression changes, players can look forward to unlocking Venture and other new heroes for free in Season 10, which kicks off on April 16. Additionally, Blizzard has teased the upcoming release of another hero, a sci-fi themed support character codenamed Space Ranger, set to launch with Season 12 later this year.
