Pakistan leader in Parliament expresses concerns over India’s ambitions to become a superpower

In a startling revelation, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the opposition leader in Pakistan’s national assembly and JUI-F chief, drew a sharp comparison between the developmental progress in India and the economic struggles faced by Pakistan. Speaking in the assembly, Maulana Fazlur Rehman expressed his concerns, stating, “India is dreaming of becoming a superpower, while we are begging to avoid bankruptcy. Who is responsible for this?”

Highlighting the stark contrast between the two neighboring nations, Maulana Fazlur Rehman emphasized that Pakistan is still striving to achieve the level of development that India has already attained. He attributed Pakistan’s economic challenges to unseen forces manipulating the country’s affairs from behind the scenes, labeling the nation as mere puppets in the hands of these powerful entities.

Furthermore, the JUI-F chief condemned the current state of affairs in Pakistan, criticizing the burden of national debt on every citizen and decrying the stagnation plaguing the nation. He raised questions about the legitimacy of the parliament and accused its members of compromising principles and democracy for personal gains.

Moreover, Maulana Fazlur Rehman denounced electoral rigging in the past general elections and expressed concerns about the lack of accountability and independence in legislation. He questioned the satisfaction of both winners and losers in the assembly, highlighting the prevailing dissatisfaction among the political class.

Meanwhile, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) approved a $1.1 billion loan tranche for Pakistan, marking the conclusion of the second bailout package aimed at achieving macroeconomic stability and implementing crucial reforms. Pakistan has already received two tranches totaling $1.9 billion to address its economic challenges.
