Parents of slain Australian surfers express concern over the increasingly dark world

Australian brothers Callum and Jake Robinson tragically lost their lives in a shocking incident near the port city of Ensenada on Mexico’s Baja California peninsula. The news of their murder has left their family and friends devastated, with their parents Debra and Martin Robinson expressing their grief on a beach in San Diego.

The Robinsons, who had travelled from Mexico where they identified their sons’ bodies, also bid farewell to their sons’ American friend, Carter Rhoad, who was also killed in the same incident. The trio, described as young men who shared a passion for surfing, were beloved members of the surfing community.

Callum, 33, known as the Big Koala, was a professional lacrosse player in the PLL and represented Australia in the World Championships. His brother Jake, 30, was described as a happy and compassionate soul who was pursuing a career in medicine.

The local surfing community has been paying tribute to the brothers, and the Robinsons have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support. They have thanked Australian authorities for their assistance and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has expressed his condolences and offered to speak with the family.

Mexican authorities have vowed to investigate the murders, with three suspects currently in custody. The Robinsons are now focused on returning to Australia with their sons, as they remember Callum and Jake as individuals who lived life to the fullest and brought light and love to those around them.
