The Washington Mystics and Audacy have announced an exciting partnership that will bring live Mystics games to The Team 980 (WTEM-AM) throughout the 2024 WNBA season. Fans can tune in to the broadcast starting tonight as the Mystics take on the Chicago Sky at Capital One Arena at 7 PM ET.
The broadcasts will feature a simulcast live audio feed from Monumental Sports Network’s television broadcast, including the halftime report, allowing fans to hear all 25 of the Mystics’ remaining regular season games. While most games will air on The Team 980, select games will also be available on 106.7 The Fan (WJFK-FM) and The Bet Washington (WJFK-AM), with all games streamed locally on the Audacy app.
“We are delighted to broaden our relationship with Audacy and continue to drive the fast-paced growth of women’s basketball in the DMV region,” said Zach Leonsis, President of Media & New Enterprises at Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE).
The broadcast booth will feature Christy Winters-Scott, a University of Maryland Hall of Famer, as the television color analyst, and play-by-play announcer Meghan McPeak. The Team 980 is Washington, D.C.’s first all-sports radio station and is excited to bring Mystics games to their growing fanbase.
The news of the radio broadcast comes after Monumental Sports Network registered its highest television viewership in six seasons for a regular season WNBA game during the season opener between the Mystics and New York Liberty on May 14. This partnership between Monumental Sports Network and Audacy will elevate women’s basketball and provide even more coverage for Mystics fans throughout the season.
