Passing the Torch: Watertown Fitness Studio Hosts Youth Sports Equipment Reuse Rally

The Watertown community is coming together for a special event that aims to help families with young athletes. Turf and Get Lively Health & Fitness are hosting a Youth Sports Equipment Rally on April 27, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 25 Clarendon St., Watertown, MA.

Parents are encouraged to bring lightly loved sports equipment that their kids have outgrown to the Get Lively Health & Fitness Studio between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. The equipment will then be available for other community members to shop for free from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

The event is in celebration of the launch of Turf, a new online marketplace for recreational programs, camps, and other activities. Michelle Tempesta, the founder of Turf, emphasized the importance of making it easier for working parents to find programs for their kids. Jan Taylor, the owner of Get Lively Health & Fitness Studio, recognized the benefits that Turf could bring to the community and is excited to co-host the event.

The “Pass the Torch: Youth Sports Equipment Rally” will accept gently used sports equipment such as sports balls, bats, rackets, gloves, and more. For more information about the event, visit www.turfgo.io.
