In a nail-biting finish, Pat Cummins’ Sunrisers Hyderabad secured a thrilling one-run victory over table-toppers Rajasthan Royals in a high-stakes Indian Premier League clash on Thursday.

The match came down to the wire, with Rajasthan needing two runs off the final ball to secure the win. However, Rovman Powell of Rajasthan was unable to connect with a full toss from Bhuvneshwar Kumar and was trapped lbw, sealing the victory for Hyderabad.

Kumar was the star of the show, picking up three crucial wickets including the dismissals of Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson for ducks in the first over of the chase. His exceptional bowling performance set the tone for Hyderabad’s defense.

Despite a strong partnership between Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag, Rajasthan suffered a collapse after the duo was dismissed by T Natarajan. Hyderabad captain Cummins also played a pivotal role, conceding only seven runs in the penultimate over to turn the tide in his team’s favor.

Speaking after the match, Rajasthan captain Samson acknowledged the unpredictable nature of the IPL, emphasizing the importance of staying focused until the end.

In their innings, Rajasthan got off to a slow start but Travis Head and Nitish Kumar Reddy’s explosive partnership propelled them past the 200-run mark. Despite a valiant effort from Rajasthan’s batsmen, Hyderabad’s bowlers held their nerve to secure a crucial victory in the IPL.
