Patricia Heaton Stands by Harrison Butker Amid Commencement Speech Backlash

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Patricia Heaton, known for her role in “Everybody Loves Raymond,” has stepped into the controversy surrounding NFL star Harrison Butker’s recent commencement speech. Butker faced backlash after criticizing Pride Month and working women during his speech at Benedictine College.

While many women have expressed their disapproval of Butker’s remarks, Heaton took to Instagram to defend him, urging critics to relax and respect his beliefs, no matter how controversial they may be. She emphasized that Butker is not a monster and should be allowed to express his opinions.

Heaton, who identified as Catholic in her video, shared that she found nothing offensive about Butker’s speech, despite being a working mother herself. She credited God for providing her with a schedule that allowed her to be hands-on with her children.

The actress also acknowledged that Butker may not approve of her choices as a working mother, but she remained unfazed by his potential disapproval. Heaton is not the only celebrity to come to Butker’s defense, as Whoopi Goldberg also supported his right to express his opinions.

However, other celebrities like Maren Morris, Flavor Flav, Maria Shriver, and Hoda Kotb, along with numerous fans, have criticized Butker for his conservative views. The controversy continues to divide opinions, with Heaton standing firm in her support of Butker’s right to speak his mind.
